Our Journey to Beyond Sustainable

Our Journey to Beyond Sustainable

At Wildway, our journey toward sustainability has been a testament to our unwavering commitment to the planet and its people. Since our founding in 2012, we've been on a mission to create nutritious, sustainable, and ethically sourced food products. Over the years, we've achieved significant milestones, demonstrating our dedication to reducing our environmental impact, promoting ethical practices, and supporting vital initiatives in conservation and sustainability.

A Look Back at Our Progress:

Before we explore the exciting new steps we're taking, let's reflect on how far we've come in our sustainability journey:

Eco-Friendly Packaging (2016): In 2016 we took our first steps toward a more sustainable future by implementing eco-friendly mailer and shipping practices. We began using recyclable and biodegradable materials to reduce our environmental footprint.

Reducing Plastic Use (2017): In 2017, we recognized the importance of minimizing our plastic use. We introduced post-consumer recycled plastic packaging for Wildway products, decreasing the use of virgin plastic and promoting a circular economy.

Carbon Offsetting (2019): In 2019, we allowed our customers to offset their carbon emissions linked to the purchase of Wildway products. By supporting renewable energy projects and reforestation efforts, we embarked on a journey to mitigate our carbon impact.

Wildlife Conservation (2020): In 2020, we deepened our commitment to environmental conservation by partnering with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation. Through this partnership, we actively supported initiatives focused on wildlife conservation and habitat restoration in Texas.

1% for the Planet (2022): In 2022, we joined forces with 1% For The Planet, pledging to donate 1% of our annual sales to approved environmental nonprofit organizations. This step reflects our dedication to supporting critical environmental causes.

Non-GMO Certification (2020): We're proud to be certified non-GMO, ensuring that all Wildway products are free from genetically modified organisms, aligning with our commitment to healthy and ethical sourcing.

Plastic Neutrality (2021): In 2021, we became certified Plastic Neutral, actively working to offset our plastic footprint. We've been funding recycling infrastructure and programs that help remove plastic waste from the environment.

Organic Certification (2021): Our commitment to organic sourcing led to our production facility becoming USDA-certified organic. This change underscored our dedication to sourcing more certified organic inputs.

Certified Organic Product (2022): In 2022, we launched our first fully certified organic product, coconut chips. This delicious snack option provides consumers with a sustainably produced choice.

  • Carbon Neutrality (2022): Achieving carbon neutrality in 2022 was a significant milestone. We focused on reducing and offsetting any remaining emissions through verified carbon offset projects.
  • Regenerative Organic Certified (2023): In 2023, we became a brand with Regenerative Organic offerings. We implemented regenerative agriculture practices within our supply chain, enhancing soil health, biodiversity, and ecosystem resilience.
